Remember that Idaho rapist? You'd have to have a pretty short term memory to have forgotten. Either that, or you weren't aware of the most current child dissapearance news story because you live in a cave and/or are opposed to being aware of the world around you. Not that one could blame you if so, with the quality of our media. Well, that rapist had a blog, and that blog had a comments system, and that system got flooded by rabid hatemail as soon as enough had been said in the media to identify the blog to any curious enough to search for it. I completely concur with NT, above. The lynch mob mentality is very 19th century. Let us sit our a$$es down and watch the jury decide. We all are subject to this equal treatment under the law, the right to due process. It SEEMS like Shasta was kidnapped (ie: pretty damned likely) and there is also a HIGH LIKELYHOOD that he MAY have reoffended against her sexually. With infinite regret, we don't know of Dylan's whereabouts now. The authorities made that quite clear. There is no judgement to be made there - only work to be done in finding the boy. So, yes, donate to a fund for the girl/children. Volunteer your time. Do what you can to be a daily hero. DO NOT, however, cast the first stone. YOU haven't done anything wrong lately, have you? Or shall we point at and acuse you, beat you, tar and feather you... and then find the truth? I'm not saying the guy DIDN'T commit the crime, folks. Unless we get the invite to the jury pool, though, it's not our responsibility to make the decision legally. I agree with one thing this man inferred in his blogs, and that is that we are all flesh and blood. Whether you pray to G-d, Allah, or a pile of dust bunnies, a jury of your American peers will judge you on the crime of which you are accused. For those crimes of which he has been convicted, and on the matter of evading authorities, he's already looking at time with old friends. Epilogue: "Teach... your children well...." It's not about WHO does it (stranger danger) - it's about WHAT (sex abuse - "good/bad touches" - and abduction danger - "no go"). I say that as an aside because, this fellow aside, Uncle Bob could be the villain... and he's family. Peace....
